This dress is made using a beautiful rich crushed velvet called Brim-brim crush. It is a dark red colour and matched with an ivory embroidered taffeta. The taffeta has embroidered scrolls and leaves all over with metallic gold and silky ivory threads.
The dress has a high back and sits close to the neck at the shoulders and then opens up to a wide straight front neckline.
The main part of the gown is made in dark red velvet and the centre front panel and lower sleeves are made in the taffeta.
There are princess seams running vertically down over the bust to the ground - the same on the back.
There is adjustable lacing at the front and back of the dress, this can be used to pull the dress a little tighter or to let it out a little.
The neckline and the front lacing has been trimmed with gold braid and satin ribbons.
The upper sleeves are fitted to the elbow and the lower sleeves are very full and trailing. The lower sleeves are lined with the contrasting fabric and there are ribbon ties on the inside of the sleeves so that they can be gathered up or worn down. Gold braid trims the elbow seam.
There is a short train at the back measuring 8cm (3").
This gown was a special order for a customer so we have included it here to show you how a variation of colours and fabrics look.
The dark red velvet is still available but we would need source the taffeta.
